Meet Dr. Aurel Apple
Dr. Aurel Apple is a native New Yorker, born and raised on Long Island. She graduated with honors from Stony Brook University, majoring in U.S. History and minoring in Biology and Studio Art. She then completed medical school at the New York Institute of Technology College of Osteopathic Medicine (NYIT-COM) on Long Island.
Dr. Apple went on to complete her internship in medicine at John T. Mather Memorial Hospital, followed by her dermatology residency at St. Barnabas Hospital in the Bronx, where she served as Chief Resident. During her training, she gained comprehensive experience in diagnosing and treating a wide variety of skin conditions, performing cosmetic and surgical procedures, and caring for patients across all skin types, including those with conditions more common in skin of color.
Today, Dr. Apple practices medical, cosmetic, and pediatric dermatology and serves as a Clinical Instructor in the Department of Dermatology at Mount Sinai Hospital. She treats a wide range of conditions, including acne, rosacea, eczema, psoriasis, hidradenitis suppurativa, hair loss, hyperpigmentation, hyperhidrosis, nail disorders, skin cancers, and more. She is also trained in cosmetic procedures to enhance natural features with subtle, natural-looking results.
